Cloud Feather on the Breath of God

Feather on the Breath of God

There is a disorder called pareidolia, seeing shapes in clouds. When I was a child, I used to spend a lot of time gazing up at the clouds while lying on grass. Sometimes Divine can make use of our disorders to bring light and inspiration.

When I saw this feather in the clouds, it reminded me of Hildegaard von Bingen’s words:

“Feather on the breath of God”

I wasn’t sure what she meant then, but I am coming to see breath as God’s spirit. I used to wonder if focusing on my breath was the same as God remembrance. I see now that I am more likely to remember Divine if I have breath awareness, if I am in the present moment.
