Focus Word: Place of Inner Sovereignty

focus word: place

Buddha suggested there is a place, a home within yourself, a place where you can take refuge, a place where you can feel safe and happy. It is an inner kingdom, a refuge. You don’t have to travel far. It’s just a breath away. It is in the present moment.

Focus Word: Speak

As I watched this turtle, I imagined he was speaking:

“You, O Lord, are my lamp, my God who lightens my darkness. With you I can break through any barrier, with my God I can scale any wall. As for God, his ways are perfect; the word of the Lord, purest gold. He indeed is the shield of all who make him their refuge. For who is God but the Lord? Who is a rock but our God? The God who girds me with strength and makes the path safe before me.”

-Psalm 18: 29-33

“For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock. .”

—Psalm 27:5

The writers assured me of their prayers, and shared positive quotes with me. I received much comfort. I decided to join the writing group since I benefited so much from it. At first I had a lot of reservation about writing, as I had never received good grades in English. So far, no one has complained about my sentence structures or grammar. The process of thinking of others helped pull me out of depression.
