Relax for more strength and vitality

“Drop all your regrets of the past and relax. Relaxation will help you acquire more strength and vitality. Relaxation is a technique through which you can catch a glimpse of your real nature, the infinite power source of your existence. Learn to be relaxed during times of stress and strain. Learn to stand aside and just watch the negative thoughts, the hurt feelings and the mental agony you are going through. As this happens, withdraw your cooperation and your involvement with the stress and the agony. Once you learn this technique, you will realize that the tension, burdens and negativity you are carrying belong to the mind; they don’t belong to the inner Self, your true being.” —Amma, “Awaken Children” Volume 8, p. 73-74

Light of Impermanence

[…There’s a way of training ourselves in order not to become the victim of fear and grief — that is to look deeply into ourselves and to see that we are made of non-self elements. And when we look around ourselves, we can recognize ourselves in the non-self elements, like a father looking at his children can see himself in his children, can see his continuation in his children. So he is not attached to the idea that his body is the only thing that is him. He’s more than his body. He is inside of his body but he is also at the same [time] outside of his body in many elements. And if we have the habit of looking like that, we will not be the victim of our attachment to one form of manifestation, and we will be free. And that freedom makes happiness and peace possible.”

Ancient Oak

ancientoak_web

held above by the heavens of infinity
rooted below by Mother Earth
this tree seems to be longing to unite both heaven and earth
like a bridge or conduit
in the state of be-long-ing
some parts of it wanting to touch the sky
and another part
wanting to return to its roots from which it came
love roots
and sky roots
both home
remembering from where it came
